Zarcero: fog, cows, and weird bushes

Zarcero-park with strangely-pruned bushes Zarcero is a charming town en route to Ciudad Quesada. Its high altitude (1700m) gives it a cool, foggy climate. The scenery around this dairy town is beautiful with its green hillsides partially-covered with fog. The most notable scenery, however, is found in the Parque Francisco Alvarado. In front of the pink-colored church, the park sports bushes that are curiously trimmed into various shapes (some of them quite odd). The bushes leading up to the church form two rows of arches that are Zarcero's signature landmarks, pruned by Evangelisto Blanco decades ago.
