Monteverde Picture Gallery

Monteverde is more than just the cloud forest reserve. In this Monteverde Costa Rica Picture Gallery I will highlight some of the views captured during my tours to the Brenes Family Organic Farm and the Extremo Canopy Tour, whose activities I thoroughly enjoyed. I hope you enjoy the pictures.









From the Brenes organic farm you can see the ocean to the west, four different volcanoes, and a bunch of beautiful Monteverde countryside to go with it.

The Brenes family working on their organic vegetable farm. They sell their organic produce in town and offer regular tours to see the gorgeous farm and learn about the nutritional and medicinal purposes of its plants.

On a tour you will ride in one of these traditional ox-powered carts.


The Brenes family also runs an organic dairy farm.

Here the tour guide is explaining how the 'strangler' uses its host tree for support.


They built a neat platform on this gigantic, funny-shaped tree. If you see it in person it looks like three big trees tangled up with one another.


The forest trail leads to this, the smaller of the two waterfalls on the Brenes farm.

The forest tour now includes canyoning. This route lets you rappel down the stream of the big waterfall.


Along the trail there is also a decent tarzan swing.


The neighboring Monteverde Extremo Canopy Tour can whiz you out over a huge valley to get an unforgettable view of the Monteverde area.


The tour's tarzan swing might make you pee your pants. The faint of heart can opt out. It's amazing that I didn't.
